Baseball or Softball?
Currently PMBA offers coed baseball (small white ball) for all divisions and Parkland Softball Association offers softball (larger yellow ball) for U7-U19. This registration site is for Softball only.
When does registration open?
January 1, 2026
What level do I register my player for?
U7- Birth years 2019/2020/2021 (recreation only)
U9- Birth years 2017/2018 (recreation only)
U11 - Birth years 2015/2016 (rep/competitive team and recreational teams)
U13 - Birth years 2013/2014 (rep/competitive team and recreational teams)
U15 - Birth years 2011/2012 (rep/competitive team and recreational teams)
U17 - Birth years 2009/2010 (rep/competitive team and recreational teams)
U19 - Birth years 2007/2008 (rep/competitive team and recreational teams)
When does the season start and finish?
The recreation season will start at the end of April or beginning of May (weather permitting) and finish by the end of June. Depending on the team, the rep season will start with indoor training as early as October. Games may start in April/May.
If my player tries out for a rep team and is not successful, what happens?
If your child is not placed on a rep team, they will attend evaluations to be placed on a recreation team.
What equipment do I need to provide for my player?
- Batting Helmet with cage: PSA has put in place a policy that requires each player to have his/her own ball helmet. PSA has put this helmet policy in place for reasons such as personal safety, hygiene etc. Chin straps are no longer required.
- Ball Glove
- Fielders Mask - U9 and up, optional for U7
- Athletic Support Cup (Jill) mandatory for catchers*, optional for U7 and players not in the catching position
- Water Bottle
- Navy Softball Pants, optional for U7
- Red Belt, optional for U7
- Red Socks, optional for U7
- Bats (the association provides each team with a few bats)
*Softball Canada Rule 3, Section 6e:
ATHLETIC SUPPORT All (male and female) youth/minor catchers must wear an athletic support with protective cup.
EFFECT – Sec 6b-e: Failure to wear the appropriate equipment after a warning will result in the removal of the player.
What size of ball is used?
U7 and U9 divisions use an 11" softie ball.
U11 and U13 divisions all use an 11″ ball.
U15 and all divisions above, use a 12″ ball.
When are Rep tryouts?
Rep tryouts for U15-U19 are held the September before the following season. U13 rep and U11 advanced tryouts are held in January for the same season.
Who can attend the AGM?
The AGM is held in November and anyone can attend. The date will be sent out to our membership about a month before the meeting. Follow our social media for updates.
